Tatyana Shtal

Professor, Full Doctor in Economic Sciences, Dean of Faculty of  International Economics and Business, Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics, Ukraine

Born on July 17, 1976 in the city of Mariupol, Donetska Oblast.

Citizen of Ukraine.

Higher Education:

In 1998, she graduated from the Faculty of Economics of the Kharkiv Academy of Technology and Catering with a degree in Enterprise Economics (diploma with honours).

From 1998 to 2010 she held the positions of assistant, senior lecturer, associate professor at Kharkiv State University of Food Technology and Trade (KSUFTT).

In 2000-2004, Shtal studied at the graduate school of KSUFTT. She defended her thesis for the degree of Candidate of Economic Sciences in the speciality “Economics of Trade and Services” in 2006.

In 2010-2012, Shtal studied in doctoral studies at KSUFTT and defended her thesis for the degree of Doctor of Economics in the speciality “Economics and Enterprise Management (by type of economic activity)” (2012).

Since 2012 — Professor of the Department of International Economics at KSUFTT.

In 2013, she received a second higher education at KKSUFTT with a degree in Foreign Economic Activity Management.

In 2014, Shtal was awarded the academic title of Professor at the Department of International Economics of KSUFTT.

Since 2014 — Head of the Department of International Economics at KSUFTT.

Since 2015 — Professor of the Department of International Economics and Management of Foreign Economic Activity at Kharkiv National Economic University, since 2017 — Head of the same department.

Since 2018 — Dean of the Faculty of International Economic Relations at S. Kuznets Kharkiv National Economic University.

T.V. Shtal is the author of over 200 scientific papers. Over the years of her scientific activity, she has trained 2 candidates of economic sciences, 1 doctor of philosophy. Under the leadership of T.V. Shtal and with her participation, 10 research topics were carried out by order of Ukrainian enterprises and at the expense of budgetary funds. Shtal is a member of the editorial boards of leading scientific periodicals, which are recognised by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine as professional in business, management, and legal sciences. Shtal has an international certificate of the “Trade Policy and Commercial Diplomacy” programme at Carleton University and the University of Ottawa and the Centre for the Development of International Trade at the V. Hetman Kyiv National Economic University (2007). She took part in the development of the “Concept of the Development Strategy of the City of Kharkiv until 2030” (2014).

Coordinator of the project “Partnership between Universities and the Business Sector for the Development of International Trade” within the framework of the Erasmus+ grant assistance programme (2016). Shtal took part in the international agreement on academic mobility Erasmus+ (2017–2018).

For her fruitful scientific and pedagogical activity, Shtal was awarded with gratitude and diplomas of Kharkiv State University of Food Technology and Trade, S. Kuznets Kyiv National Economic University. In 2008, she won the regional competition “Higher School of Kharkiv Region — the Best Names” in the nomination “Teacher of Professionally Oriented Disciplines”. Awarded with the Certificate of Honour of the Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of Ukraine (2012), the Certificate of Honour of the Department of Economics and International Relations of the Kharkiv Oblast State Administration (2014), the Certificate of Honour of the Kharkiv Oblast Council (2020).
