Abstract
Reducing of energy dependence of our country and increasing of the share of alternative energy sources require appropriate investment support. The article is an analysis of the current state of energy sector investment support of Ukraine and proposal development for improving its efficiency. The following methods have been used for the scientific research: factor analysis – in identifying of the impact of factors on the basic performance indicators of the energy sector of Ukraine; expert assessments method - for proposal development of improving of the efficiency of energy sector investment support; structural and system analysis – for determining of the major trends of the energy sector functioning. The article investigates the basic parameters that characterize Ukraine’s energy sector functioning and its investment support. Global investment experience of energy sector has been analyzed. It is noted that the current stage of Ukraine's energy sector development is characterized by complex problems: lack of financial resources, depreciation of fixed assets, inefficient use of energy, low adoption of energy-efficient technologies. Statistical information analysis and literature synthesis showed that depreciation of assets is more than 60%, and the share of investment in energy development is about 1%. It has been stated that for our country solution of the problems of energy sector investment support and reducing the cost of borrowed funds has become national importance. The comparative analysis of the availability of funding sources for the energy sector has been made in the article. The dynamics of foreign investments in this sphere has been analyzed. The article emphasizes advanced tools to ensure state regulation of energy sector investment and substantiates the motivation of their use. A set of measures to improve the efficient use of financial resources has been suggested. The promising areas of investment support of Ukraine's energy sector have been identified in the article. Prospects for further research are to develop practical aspects of a competitive energy market in Ukraine and improve the effectiveness of funding programs on energy-efficient technologies.
