The methodical approach to evaluating foreign economic component of industrial competitiveness has been suggested in the article. Relevance of the study is due to the need of improving methodological tools assess the competitiveness of industry in terms of FTA between Ukraine and the EU. In addition to methodological character, learning of foreign component of industrial competitiveness is due to the need to obtain an objective assessment of export opportunities of the country or region. The purpose of the article is presentation and justification of the methodological approach to integrated assessment of foreign component of the competitiveness of the industrial sector. The practical aim of the research is development and presentation of methodological tools for calculating species competition and determining the level of competitiveness of the industry by commodity groups, subgroups, or industrial activities. The philosophy of the proposed approach is based on the elements of the concept of absolute advantages theories of Adam Smith and David Ricardo comparative advantage. Methodological aspects disclosed approach through the use of tools of economic analysis. It has been suggested to carry out evaluation of competitiveness of the industrial sector in three stages: formation of an information database; analysis of the dynamics and structure of export and import industry; comprehensive assessment of foreign component of industrial competitiveness. Phase I is to create the necessary data base to assess the export, import and industrial production. On the first stage of the study the dynamics and structure of exportimport operations is analyzed and analytical results are made. On the second stage of the study a comprehensive assessment of export-import operations is carried out and calculation of the coverage ratio of export import of goods are made. In the III-rd stage of the study a comprehensive assessment of export-import operations is carried out and payment of export import coverage ratio of the goods, the share of exports in the total production, the ratio of "surplus product" for export commodities and dependence on imported goods are offered. Calculation of indicators is carried out in the context of a country, region, product groups and is defined in monetary and physical units. It is expected that the obtained analytical information is expected to facilitate the adoption of investment and management decisions, formation of manufacturing and trading tactics and strategies, as well as the development of regional and national investment policy.
